Dear Friend of NARSAD:
 NARSAD is a major cause of mine. NARSAD is important enough to me (having a 53-year old son, oldest of seven children, who has had schizophrenia for 33 years) that I was persistent and was the 2nd oldest finisher, at 77, in the 2008 Detroit Free Press Marathon. I wore my MICHIGAN FOR NARSAD t-shirt.  Happily, I was able to put one foot in front of the other for yet another 26.2 miles – albeit more slowly these days!
I am writing to inform you of “The 18th Annual Michigan NARSAD Golf Classic” that is taking place on Monday, June 14 at Gowanie Golf Club in Mt. Clemens. $125 covers lunch, golf (w/cart), and dinner.  Maybe like me, you are not a golfer?  And I know it is a work day, too.  But we all eat!  The dinner is only $30. 
 It would be fantastic if you could be present to recognize Peppino Puleo, who has been the organizer of this annual NARSAD event since 1992 and has given untold hours to help NARSAD’s mission.  He is now 92 – and is still doing reasonably well, despite having a triple bypass in March 2009.  His nickname, Pep or Peppy, is certainly appropriate for this NARSAD enthusiast.
