» Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia, which affects 1 percent of the world’s population, is a chronic and severe brain disorder characterized by the following: a difficulty distinguishing between real and unreal experiences; an inability to think logically; and inappropriate emotional responses to others and situations. » Depression
An estimated 121 million people currently suffer from depression, a mental disorder characterized by sadness, loss of interest in activities and decreased energy. Depression is differentiated from normal mood changes by its severity, symptoms and duration. [read more]

 
» Bipolar Disorder
Formerly known as manic depression, bipolar disorder affects approximately 2.6 percent of the U.S. population age 18 and older, in any given year. People with this serious condition may experience dramatic shifts in mood (known as episodes of mania and depression) and changes in energy and ability to function. [read more]
» Anxiety
Anxiety disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and social phobia, are the most common psychiatric illnesses affecting both children and adults. These disorders can result in extensive anxiety and fear, are chronic and may become worse without treatment. [read more]
 
» Childhood Disorders
In the United States today, one in ten children suffers from a mental disorder severe enough to cause some level of impairment.
