Study criteria (i.e., age or gender requirements):
18 years old or older
Caucasian
diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder

Exclusion criteria:
Severe mental retardation (IQ > 55 is OK)
psychosis secondary to substance use
psychosis secondary to neurological disorder
Unable to speak English to complete consents and interviews

Brief description of study:
Participation in our study will require individuals to come to Mount Sinai Hospital and complete an one-time interview based on medical, psychiatric and familial histories. We will also ask for a small blood sample for our genetic project. We are attempting to identify one or more schizophrenia susceptibility genes.
