NARSAD expands its national schedule of public symposia on mental health research with a new offering in Boston co-presented with The Sidney R. Baer, Jr. Foundation. The symposium will take place Sunday, April 30th, 1 to 5 p.m., at Boston Harbor Hotel. Admission is free, but reservations are required.

NARSAD-supported research scientists from Harvard University, who are also affiliated with McLean and Massachusetts General Hospitals, will present recent research on schizophrenia, depression and childhood bipolar disorder. The scheduled presenters include Christopher A. Walsh, M.D., Ph.D. (Independent Investigator 1998), Gina Kuperberg, M.D., Ph.D. (Young Investigator 2001, 2003), Jonathan Picker, M.B., Ch.B., Ph.D. (Young Investigator 2004), and Maurizio Fava, M.D. (Young Investigator 1994). Jack Gorman, M.D. (Distinguished Investigator 1995, 2000), Harvard University, will moderate the symposium.

The Sidney R. Baer, Jr. Foundation provides funding support to NARSAD. The foundation focuses its grant making and program activities in the Boston, St. Louis and New York areas, and frequently collaborates with NARSAD in presenting educational programs on psychiatric research.
