Made by Dec. 31 Will Be Doubled The foundation has pledged to match dollar-for-dollar all donations made to NARSAD by December 31st. Therefore, a contribution of $100, for example, will net NARSAD a total of $200. But, to qualify for the matching funds, donations must be made by December 31st. Click here now to make a secure online donation and qualify for the matching funds. (Our newly updated donation page makes online giving quicker and easier than ever.) All donations will be used by NARSAD to support leading-edge research on mental illnesses by some of the world’s most talented scientists. 2007 has been an exciting year in research, one that has brought us closer to a better understanding of the causes of mental illness and to improved diagnosis and treatment. This vital progress was made possible only because of the generosity of our donors. Many of our donors share with us their personal motivation and commitment to conquer mental illness. Among the people who reached out to us this year was the family of Christina Rossi, a vibrant, compassionate young woman who was diagnosed with serious depression at age 13 and bipolar disorder in her early 20s. Tragically, Chrissy could not find an effective treatment and chose to end her life at 26. Last July, on the first anniversary of Chrissy’s death, her family held a golf tournament that raised nearly $60,000 for NARSAD. The proceeds from the event are making possible more urgently-needed research on mental illness. “Chrissy was looking for a cure,” said her mother. “She was looking for anything that could make her feel better. That’s why I know we have to help find a cure.” Like Chrissy’s mother, there’s nothing we want more than to cure mental illness and stop the suffering and loss that can come with it. Each and every one of us is part of this quest. Only by investing in research will we reach our goal. Please donate now to take advantage of our year-end dollar-for-dollar match and double your support of research. With your support we’ll continue to accelerate the pace of research and reach our goal of conquering mental illness. We thank you and wish you health and peace in the New Year.
