NARSAD offers grants to scientists conducting neurobiological research at a university or research institution. Since 1987, NARSAD has awarded over $238 million in the form of 3,516 research grants. Update on the 2009 Distinguished Investigator Award Applications:
Award notification letters have been mailed, if you do not receive this by Sept. 19th, please email us at grants@narsad.org.

Note for 2nd round winners-the 2nd round winner packet includes the following:

Notification letter
Face sheet to be submitted with your 2nd round application
2nd round format/guidelines

Please save your entire application in a disc and submit via mail.
Combine all sections (A-M, in order) as one PDF (preferred) or Word document.

For several years, there have been tantalizing clues of a connection between successful treatments for depression and neurogenesis � the biological process in which new nerve cells are generated. Now, thanks to an ingenious series of experiments conducted by NARSAD Independent Investigator Grigori Enikolopov, Ph.D., and colleagues, the evidence for such a connection seems virtually irrefutable.
