Christopher Bowie, Ph.D.

Christopher Bowie, Ph.D.
Young Investigator

Dr. Christopher Bowie received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University. He is currently an assistant professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and a clinical psychologist at the Bronx VA Medical Center.

He received his first NARSAD Young Investigator award while a post-doctoral researcher in Dr. Barbara Cornblatt's Recognition and Prevention program at Hillside Hospital. He is also the recipient of the New York State Office of Mental Health achievement award in the area of services research, American Psychological Society graduate student grant program award, and the NIMH Loan Repayment award.

The aim of Dr. Bowie's 2007 NARSAD Young Investigator award, mentored by Dr. Philip Harvey, is to examine whether the effects produced by cognitive remediation and functional skills training modalities are specific to cognition and skills, or generalize to other domains of functioning.
