NARSAD YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD FACT SHEET » Award Initiation/Transfers/Budget &/or Proposal Revisions
To begin the NARSAD Young Investigator Award, it is necessary to submit the following items:
*It is the responsibility of the investigator to keep IRB/animal protocol approvals up to date. If an approval lapses, the NARSAD award will be placed on hold until the updated approval is received. Please submit these documents to: Attn. Doris Ip Website (Submit via e-mail to grants@narsad.org)
Transfers (Submit all documents to Doris Ip at the above address or e-mail questions to dip@narsad.org). The transfer process is explained in #7 of the Terms of Award. The following documents are required: a letter from the investigator requesting the transfer (e-mail is sufficient); a letter from the current institution relinquishing the grant (with the total amount of funds to be transferred); a letter from the new institution stating willingness to accept the grant; a letter from a mentor in the grantee’s new department stating willingness to act in this capacity and asserting that the project can continue; and a revised budget, if necessary. Once approved, updated payment information and IRB approval is required prior to making payment, as well as updated contact information and the date of the transfer. For more information, please see the NARSAD Transfer Request Information Sheet ![]() Budget Revisions/Change in Projects Please e-mail all budget revisions to Audra Moran (amoran@narsad.org). Please include original budget versus requested budget, with an explanation as to how the original allocations will now be covered. Please submit any changes in project via e-mail to amoran@narsad.org. All project changes must be pre-approved by NARSAD. » Interim Progress Reports
Progress reports are due once a year in January (by no later than January 15), with 2nd and 4th payments contingent on their receipt. Interim progress reports should include:
Do not submit publications in lieu of a report. Additional Significant Progress/Achievements (Submit via e-mail to grants@narsad.org) It is requested that NARSAD researchers report immediately any new developments in research projects or individual careers, resulting publications, or if note-worthy awards or recognition are received. » Final Report
(Submit via e-mail to grants@narsad.org) A final report is due three months after the grant is completed. A final report reminder will be sent, which will include detailed instructions for completion of the report. Final report guidelines can be found at www.narsad.org in the "Research Center/For Grantees" section of the NARSAD website. *Note: Publications may not be submitted in lieu of progress or final reports. » No-Cost Extensions
(Submit via e-mail to grants@narsad.org) Please e-mail all no-cost extension requests at least one-month prior to the project end date and include the length of additional time requested (up to one year at a time). Do not submit publications in lieu of a report. |
