 Project Summary  Yuval Bloch, M.D. (Young Investigator 2007) of Shalvata Mental Health Center Tel Aviv University, will study transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and its role in treating adolescent depression. TMS is a noninvasive method of brain stimulation in which magnetic fields induce electric currents in the cerebral cortex, thereby depolarizing neurons. Adolescent depression is a severe life threatening disorder, and Dr. Bloch’s research may provide a promising technique for treating those suffering. Program Area: MOOD DISORDERS\Unipolar |
