W Burleson Daviss, M.D. (Young Investigator 2002) of Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, is studying comorbid depression in adolescents with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). He will attempt to discover potential risk factor for depression occurring in patients with ADHD. Through an observational study, Dr. Daviss will seek to prove that persons with depression and ADHD will be more symptomatic and impaired, and have greater family conflict, prenatal depression and non-ADHD psychopathology than non-depressed persons with ADHD. Dr. Daviss hopes to increase the knowledge and effective treatment of co-morbid ADHD and depression in adolescents. Program Area: MULTIPLE FOCUS AREAS\Unipolar Depression/ADHD\Child/Adolescent |
