Adriana Feder, M.D. (Young Investigator 2002) of New York State Psychiatric Institute, will capitalize on a unique set of data-twenty-four-hour cortisol profiles were obtained in prepubertal children with major depression, anxiety disorders without major depression, and normal controls-to examine the neurobiological measures obtained when the subjects were prepubertal children in relation to their clinical diagnostic outcomes as adults. Dr. Feder will also examine the association between prepubertal neurobiological findings and recurrence of depression in adulthood, lifetime suicidality, and family psychiatric history.
