Roberto Lewis-Fernandez, M.D. (Young Investigator 2002) of New York State Psychiatric Institute, will examine the current screening process for psychosis among underserved minority populations at a primary care setting, attempt to establish the operating characteristics of this screener, compare these characteristics in this high-risk primary care sample to those of a second psychosis screener, gather information to revise the existing psychosis screener, and generate a final version of this psychosis screener. This will be the first study to combine clinical and ethno-cultural methods to investigate the screening process for psychotic disorders in a general medicine clinic serving a low-income, predominantly minority urban population. Program Area: MULTIPLE FOCUS AREAS\Schizophrenia/Psychotic Depression |
