Miklowitz, Ph.D. (Distinguished Investigator 2001) of University of Colorado, Boulder, will examine the feasibility of delivering and the clinical effects of a 9-month family psychoeducational program, with mood stabilizing medication, for teenagers with bipolar disorder. It is predicted that the addition of psychotherapy may enhance the adolescent patient's compliance with medication, the ability to cope with stressors that evoke symptoms, and social/school functioning. The family focused treatment approach, a 9-month, 21 session outpatient program, will be used. Program Area: MOOD DISORDERS\Bipolar\Bipolar I |
