Boris Nemets, M.D. (Young Investigator 2003) of Beer Sheva Mental Health Center, proposes a study of omega-3 fatty acids vs. placebo in depressed children. Current antidepressant treatments such as SSRI's demonstrate limited efficacy in childhood depression. Recently, Dr. Nemets has completed a promising study of omega-3 fatty acids in the treatment of adults with depression.
