Galit Nimrod, Ph.D. (Young Investigator 2007) of the University of Haifa, will look at the Internet forums and message boards that have become popular means of communication among many groups of people with depression. The study will examine the contents of their discourse, how the communications affect participants’ lives, and age-related differences in issues discussed. Dr.Nimrod will also conduct an online survey with 600 participants. The rationale of this study is to explore the potential of the Internet to provide support to persons with depression and also to gain information that may suggest useful interventions.
