Mark Weiser, M.D. (Young Investigator 2000) of Chaim Sheba Medical Center, will assess recall bias in assessments of pre-morbid (prior to illness onset) social functioning in patients with schizophrenia. Recall bias, or the tendency of an interviewee to be influenced by knowledge of the disorder, will be assessed by comparing retrospective information collected after illness onset, with data on social functioning collected before illness onset. This work may provide validity for the practice of using retrospective reports of social functioning, in place of prospectively collected data, in studies of schizophrenia. Program Area: SCHIZOPHRENIA/PSYCHOTIC DISORDERS\Schizophrenia |
